There are thousands of challenges, responsibilities, and obstacles that we all face in life, but we don't have to face these trials unarmed!
The ability to make music comes with countless "mini-skills" that can help us weather the storm.
Timing - Being able to recognize when events occur in a pattern over time; Knowing how long it takes for your body to take action. Music is chock-full of mathematic relationships like fractions, ratios, beats per minute, triplets and tuplets, polyrhythms and more. We will understand and feel these relationships in our bodies and minds.
Listening - The most important skill for any musician! Listening is the first step in understanding. We will practice Ear Training exercises to help us identify instruments, rhythms, and pitch intervals.
Patience - Learning an instrument is a constant process of identifying areas that can be improved and building a practice that will target those opportunities. This process REQUIRES time, but seeing the fruits of your labors will build patience.
Self-Assuredness - A note can only sound as confident as you feel when you play it. We build confidence in ourselves by setting achievable goals, then accomplishing them. Set 'Em Up, Knock 'Em Down!
We can learn:

We can also learn music theory, songwriting, solfege, and ear training to help you create music of your own!
I have partnered with Noisy Neighbor Studios to provide lessons in a working recording studio with a DW drum set, and many high end amplifiers.
There is currently availability on Sundays at Noisy Neighbors Studios! Drum set students will need to schedule on Sunday, or have a drum set available in their home for our lessons.
The studio is located in Las Vegas, at 1800 S. Industrial, near the Punk Rock Museum and the Stratosphere Tower.
I hope you enjoy this album, "Peace in the Valley" by The Sorry Devils. I was the drummer for The Sorry Devils in 2013 and 2014 when we wrote and recorded these songs.

Rob was born in Riverside, California in 1986, but was raised in Henderson, NV. Rob’s Great-Great Grandfather was the first chief of police of Henderson, and every new generation has served our city in law enforcement, civil engineering, and teaching. The Crisler family is dedicated to building and supporting our community in whatever ways we can.
Rob went to school at Gordon McCaw Elementary, Burkholder MS, Foothill HS, and College of Southern Nevada before attending Berklee College of Music on scholarship for Drum Set Performance, and Contemporary Writing and Production (writing and recording music).
As a drummer, in 2013 Rob joined the band The Sorry Devils in Portland, OR, where they recorded their full-length album, “Peace in the Valley” (available on all streaming platforms). The Sorry Devils performed and toured in the Pacific Northwest through 2014.
Since 2018, Rob has been teaching music in Henderson and Las Vegas both privately, and at music stores like Music & Arts and Guitar Center. During this time, Rob honed his one-on-one teaching skills with students age 5 to 65. Rob also created his own private teaching business called Music Lessons by Rob, which is now his primary income and focus. Along with private lessons, Rob is working to create group lessons and jam sessions for younger students at Noisy Neighbor Studios (downtown by the Stratosphere).
Rob currently performs in the Las Vegas Kirtan Community. Approximately 3 times a month, he plays bass for Kirtan chanting meetups, guided meditations, or wellness events in the Las Vegas area. Rob also performs with the New World Rhythmatism Ensemble, a group of dedicated musicians and dancers that improvise long-form musical journeys for entertainment and meditation.
